Our Teaching Approach
At Learning Sprouts, we believe that a child’s self efficacy (self confidence and perception of self) is one of the primary factors that influence their academic performance. We want to use our curriculum to increase a child’s self efficacy (and thereby academic performance) through:
Repetition ("Practice Makes Perfect")
Mastery comes from mindful repetition. We weave spaced-repetition cycles, quick reviews, low-stakes quizzes, and guided drills into every lesson so new ideas move from short-term recall to long-term confidence. By revisiting skills in varied contexts, students turn algebra steps or research frameworks into second nature, freeing their brains for deeper problem-solving and creativity.
Fun
Fun elements in a class can help students “forget” about how challenging, mundane or unrelatable a topic is. It encourages students to practice their intellectual motor skills (e.g writing, math). Some examples of fun elements include topics that relate to their day-to-day lives or interests (e.g Marvel, Stanley Cups, latest hot topics).
Strong Parent Child Teacher Engagement
We try our best to provide clear, consistent feedback on students’ performance to parents, as well as clear action steps that the child, parent, and teacher can take to help the student improve.
Positive Affirmation
We strive to see the best in our students and lead them to actions that can help them improve in the subjects they are learning.
